Anambra guber: PDP drops aspirant, clears 6 others

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has cleared six aspirants and disqualified one ahead of the November 18 governorship election in Anambra State.

Chairman of the screening committee and ex-minister of Police Affairs, Adamu Maina Waziri said the committee was fair and just.

      <p>Presenting the certificates of clearance to the aspirants in Abuja, Waziri said ‎a former minister of aviation, Stella Oduah, Dr. Alex Obiogbolu, Prince John Okechukwu Emeka and Lynda Chuba Ikpeazu were cleared.</p>        Niger Delta youths disown quit notice on Hausa, Yoruba  <br /><p>He said ‎Ifeanyi Patrick Ubah “barely got cleared but is as good as any other aspirant”, while Oseloka Henry Obaze was conditionally cleared and awaiting a waiver from the party.</p> <p>Akolisa Ufodike was disqualified from the contest on grounds of dual citizenship.</p> <p>Waziri explained that Ufodike was disqualified because he was a Canadian citizen but a Nigerian by birth.</p>          <p>“Any aspirant who is not satisfied with the decisions of the screening panel has the right to appeal,” Waziri said.</p>        Boko Haram: Sheriff’s loyalists behind rumoured arrest of S‎hekau at UN facility – APC        Dino Melaye’s recall: Senator to know his fate September 11   <br />Subscribe to our top headlines Newsletter        <br />
